I’ve kept you in the dark long enough and some of you have been waiting patiently for me to announce this (you know who you are). 2022 was a BIG year for me: teaching full-time, training to swim the English Channel and around Manhattan, volunteering, caring for family, and … going to school part-time.
Yes, you read that right. In March, after 6 months of 3-hour, twice a week classes, I became a certified Life Coach! It was a lot to add to my already full schedule, but I am SO glad I did it and I am excited to venture farther into this world.
Why Life Coaching? There are many reasons, the primary being I was looking for opportunities to reduce my teaching load to part-time, and to find something I can continue to do when I retire from teaching. I was also inspired by the volunteer work I’ve done as a Stephen Minister for the past 2+ years (you can Google that if you’re so inclined). So, after lots and lots of exploration, I landed on Life Coaching.
What exactly is Life Coaching? I’ve been trying to figure out how to best explain it but … it depends. It really depends on what YOU need it to be! Coaching is for you if you’ve been thinking about:
- Setting and ACHIEVING goal (or a New Year’s Resolution)
- Exploring employment opportunities
- Rekindling a creative passion
- Managing stress
- Working on relationships
- Going back to school
- Getting healthier
- Finding work / life balance
How does it work? Here’s a quick primer:
Coaching IS:
- Based on the belief that YOU are the expert in your life and work.
- A commitment. A coach will hold you responsible and accountable.
- A partnership in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximize your potential.
Coaching is NOT:
- Counselling or therapy, although it can work in conjunction with counselling.
- An easy “fix”.
- Expert advise or mentorship.
My website IS on the way, but in the meantime I invite you to book a FREE Discovery call with me to find out how coaching can work for you!
I look forward to meeting with you … Let’s GO!!!
